The DC-23 Vibration Analyzer and Data Collector released. The DC-23 exceeds the specification of all Russian analyzers. In combination with the DREAM ver. 5 condition monitoring and automatic diagnostics software is forms the corporate condition monitoring and diagnostics system.


The CM-21 vibrometer was introduces. It was listed in the BEST100 products of Russia in the industrial applications. Our employers were awarded the Quality awards or Russia.

Association VAST becomes the Russian representative in the MIMOSA alliance that designs standards in the condition monitoring and diagnostic systems. Also this yes we were awarded the Microsoft Golden Partner status in the design of the software.


The DC-12M - first Russian Vibration Analyzer and Data Collector according to the ISO 10816 standard was introduced to the market.

The North West Educational Center was founded with the goal to provide training and knowledge to the industry in vibration analysis, condition monitoring, diagnostics, balancing and alignment.


Association VAST, Ltd. was founded as a leading company of the association of companies dealing with design, production and introduction of the condition monitoring and diagnostic systems based on vibration analysis.


We developed the first Russian digital Vibration Analyzer and  Data collector DC-11.

In 1995 VAST, Inc. delivers to Paper and Pulp Mill its first continuous monitoring and diagnostic system based on standard computers.
A joined share company named VibroAcoustical Systems and Technologies, (VAST, Inc.) was founded. It deals with the development and the supply of the multipurpose diagnostic systems and rotor balancing systems.

Same year we introduced the first portable system for automatic condition diagnostics of rolling element bearings (DREAM) using Bruel & Kjaer instruments and the first generation of Russian instrumentation and balancing system (VAST_BAL).
A small state enterprise “VIBROTECHNIQUE“ was created. At that time, we started a project of developing automatic systems for fast and reliable diagnostics of a large number of rolling element bearings in machines. This system does not need a highly qualified operator.
The first methods standard was issued in 1980 and included new vibration methods such as envelope detection, pseudo-vibration etc. After testing, a new, improved, standard method for ships was issued in 1983. Since then, it’s being used, not only on ships, but also on a number of large plants. In 1986, a book devoted to these methods of vibrodiagnostics was published. For more than 10 years ( 1980-90 ), we have collected a large quantity of statistics on vibrations of electric mechanisms. In 1987, our specialists were able to make extremely reliable diagnostics on ship mechanisms. At that time, we started to widen applications of our methods, particularly in electric machinery building plants, paper industry, etc.
The wide investigations conducted by our specialists resulted in the development of the first expert systems for condition monitoring and diagnostics used in the Russian Navy in 1970-80s. We were responsible for electric machines, fans, pumps, and propellers. We also performed diagnostics of gearboxes, turbines, and compressors. Our main tasks were to develop methods of diagnostics this machinery using a tape recorder and standard spectrum analyzers and teaching the personnel of special diagnostic teams in naval bases.
